Small Group Training

What is Small Group Training (SGT)?
SGT is limited to no more than 8 people with 1 Coach. SGT is designed to provide more individualized instruction for each member. Your Coach will customize the workouts based on your fitness level, exercise experience and goals. Programs may include an assessment. They are crafted to help you progress safely toward your fitness goals. You will also learn proper form in order to build strength & endurance and increase mobility and flexibility safely. You can expect to receive more individualized attention while experiencing motivating & inspiring support from your group and coach.
Registration: Registration for Orientation/Meet the Coach and Training sessions are limited to Foothills Area YMCA members.
Cost: Info/Meet the Coach sessions are FREE to our members. A fee applies to Training sessions–next 8-week session beginning January 10, 2022.

WOMEN ON WEIGHTS:
Women on Weights (Beginner/Intermediate)
Women on Weights is an 8-week course that features 2 workouts per week with the following training priorities: a full body workout with a combination of super sets and single exercises with a focus on improving strength and understanding the importance of nutrition for achieving goals.
Although the full body will be worked, a muscle group will be the focal point of each workout. We will address special needs and discuss and plan against individual goals.
The focus will be on mastering form, range of motion and the 7 Foundational Moves of TRX: Plank, Squat, Lunge, Push, Pull, Hinge, Rotation. Through a variety of movements, individuals will develop core strength, improved joint mobility & flexibility, cardiovascular & muscular endurance while learning progressions to continually challenge themselves.
Functional / HIIT Training (Intermediate/Advanced)
This program is for intermediate & advanced exercisers. Using the TRX, Queenax Rig and all the tools in the Functional Studio, this program will focus on strength development, mobility, balance and core work. We will teach body awareness to improve form and recruitment of proper muscle groups for optimal strength development. Cardiovascular fitness development will be achieved through HIIT & Sprint 8® training which will be added to improve endurance and build stamina leveraging the use of Heart Rate Training using our MyZone Technology.
